Since 1958, the Dohmen family has been inventing and reinventing their company. They started with a “wholesale drug store” in Milwaukee, WI. Following World War II the fourth generation set the stage for a new era of growth and set their sights on the wholesale pharmaceutical supply business. When significant changes in healthcare delivery happened in the marketplace, the fifth generation took the reins and focused on redefining the company’s strategy once again as a precursor of where Dohmen is today – helping life science entrepreneurs grow more efficiently and effectively. In the process of making their strategy come to life, Dohmen acquired eight service companies and three technology companies and rebranded the company Dohmen Life Sciences.
One of the company’s CFOs attended a SVA Consulting educational learning seminar on integrated, multi-entity, multi-disciplined ERP systems…and our relationship and partnership began. As Dohmen acquired new companies, it became apparent to the CFO that they needed to get their accounting processes and operations centralized. SVA Consulting put in a new ERP system, integrated disparate systems, moved separate company ledgers, developed new reporting strategies and tools, and dealt with the massive details that come with Dohmen’s acquisition of 11 total companies in the span of just a few years.
