Advanced Flexibility in Manufacturing

One of the standout features of this release is the advanced flexibility in manufacturing production operations. Manufacturers can now report operations out of sequence and manage multiple operations simultaneously. This flexibility is particularly useful for companies running parallel operations, ensuring a more efficient production process.

Enhanced Material Requirements Planning (MRP)

The 2024 R1 release extends access to Material Requirements Planning (MRP) features, providing distributors with better tools to manage inventory supply and demand for kits and kit components. This enhancement helps distributors maintain optimal inventory levels, reducing stockouts and overstock situations.

Improved Financial Capabilities

Users can now reverse cash purchase documents, which is particularly useful for handling refunds and correcting financial records. Additionally, the ability to include approval reasons on more documents within the system streamlines the approval process, providing clarity and accountability.

Built-Out Amazon Connector

This connector syncs various entities, including products, orders, payments, and shipments, between Amazon and Acumatica. This integration simplifies the management of e-commerce operations, allowing data to flow seamlessly between platforms.

Enhancements in Generic Inquiries and Business Events

Acumatica has introduced several enhancements in generic inquiries (GIs) and business events. Users can now use the results of a GI as a source for another GI, adding flexibility and power to data analysis. Native calculations of ratios and percentages within GIs further enhance data processing capabilities.

On the business event side, improved trigger condition mechanisms and the ability to use formulas for building out trigger conditions provide more sophisticated automation options.

New User Interface

The 2024 R1 release features a sleek and modern user interface (UI). The new UI groups header-level fields in a more intuitive layout, highlighting warnings, errors, and statuses for easier navigation. Users can customize the screen configuration at a personal level, adding titles and fields as needed. Although it’s advised not to use the new UI in a production environment just yet, it offers a glimpse into the future of Acumatica’s user experience.

Financial Enhancements

The financial module has seen several important updates. Users can now reverse cash purchase documents, which is particularly useful for handling refunds and correcting financial records. Users can also modify credit terms and due dates for credit memos, providing more accurate aging and cash flow analysis. Additionally, the new release supports netting AR and AP balances through customization, allowing businesses to offset balances between customers and vendors efficiently.

CRM Improvements

The case management aspect of the CRM module has been enhanced with new work calendar settings and commitment tracking. Users can now add activities counting against resolution times, providing better tracking of case progress. The ability to link activities to case commitments ensures that service-level agreements are met. Closure notes for resolved cases add an extra layer of documentation and accountability.

Integration Updates

Acumatica 2024 R1 also includes several key integration updates:

  • Avalara Tax Integration: Improved management of tax-exempt certifications and the ability to create customers in Avalara from Acumatica.
  • Shipping Carriers: New native integration with 3G Pacejet, sandbox account testing for FedEx and UPS, and Amazon buy labels included in ShipStation’s integration.
  • Amazon Integration: Enhanced integration with Amazon Buyer Central accounts, including the import of non-order related fees like storage and advertising.
