THE STORY

CH Coakley is a warehousing, third party logistics, and commercial moving company based in Milwaukee. Founded in 1978, their passion for creating customizable, scalable solutions is evident throughout every project they handle.

CH Coakley came to SVA Consulting (SVAC) for help with their outdated accounting system. Their legacy system was struggling to keep pace with the company's rapid growth and was plagued by inefficiencies. A significant limitation was its inability to multitask - a user running a report had to wait for its completion before proceeding to another task, leading to delays and reduced productivity. Furthermore, the system's restricted use to the accounting department highlighted the need for a more inclusive solution that could empower various department leaders and key stakeholders.

The SVAC team listened to the needs of CH Coakley and worked to find a solution that would fit their timeline and meet the needs of all parties, says Chevon Young, CH Coakley Controller. “It's a true business partnership. They care about what's best for you, and they really put in the extra effort and energy to make sure that you get to where you want to be.”

SVAC and CH Coakley worked together to nail down short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals, and decided to use Acumatica software, largely because of its scalability and customization capabilities. The project module in particular has proven to be an efficient way to keep track of job costing. The team is now able to estimate, plan, and evaluate project profitability right from the outset, with the flexibility to adapt as projects progress.

Throughout implementation and onboarding, SVAC’s focus was on what CH Coakley needed the software to do, how it would be used, and what was needed to help them grow and be more efficient. 

CH Coakley has been pleased with the transformation. “It's made us more efficient. It's definitely brought us into the 21st century,” says Chevon. “It's very user-friendly – we get a lot of positive feedback from users. People want to work with the system.”
